Membership Application – Apply directly for Lion FM membership

Lion FM is an association incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act 1981(Vic).
Lion FM is the holder of a temporary community broadcasting licence numbered SL 1130105
that permits it to serve the religious Jewish community of the licence area specified in the
licence.
Lion FM, as a community radio station, recognises and welcomes participation in the running
of the station by members of the communities it serves.

To broadcast programming of relevance to the Jewish Community of Melbourne
including news, music and discussion;
To promote tolerance, understanding and dialogue within the Jewish Community and the
community as a whole;
To promote unity of endeavour and of action within the Jewish Community of Victoria;
To encourage and assist the development of Jewish social, religious and cultural life in
Victoria;
To perpetuate the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and to promote understanding
of the Holocaust;
To promote the centrality of the State of Israel in Jewish life;
To promote Zionism;
To promote understanding and goodwill between Jews and citizens of other faiths;
To act in conjunction with other bodies to provide facilities for and to assist generally
Jewish Education in Victoria;
To administer any relief or other fund which may be received in trust or otherwise for any
of these aims and objects;
To apply for membership and participate as a constituent of the Jewish Community
Council of Victoria;
To co-operate with any organization having aims or objects similar to our aims and
objectives;
To raise monies for and to apply the same in carrying out these aims and objectives;
To apply for and maintain a Community Broadcasting Licence;
To acquire, equip, maintain, manage premises for use as a Broadcasting Station by and for
the Jewish Community of Victoria;
To transmit and develop programs of cultural, educational and social significance to the
Jewish Community.
